Abstract Tips
🔬 Tips for a Standout Abstract Submission
1. Start with a Strong, Specific Title
Your title is your first impression. Make it precise, informative, and concise. Avoid vague phrases like “A study of…” or “New insights…”. Instead, clearly indicate the core focus or key finding of your work.
✅ Good: B Cell Depletion in Refractory SLE: Long-Term Outcomes from a Multi-Center Study
🚫 Poor: Results of Our Study in SLE Patients
2. Structure Your Abstract Clearly
Use a clear and well-structured format:
- Background – Set the scene and explain why this study matters.
- Objective – What question did you aim to answer?
- Methods – Briefly describe your study design, population, and analysis.
- Results – Highlight the most important data. Be specific—numbers matter!
- Conclusion – State your main takeaway. Why is it relevant?
3. Emphasize Results
While background and methods are important, results are what evaluators focus on. Provide concrete data wherever you can:
✅ “IL-17 levels were reduced by 43% in the treatment group (p<0.01)”
🚫 “Treatment had a significant effect on inflammation”
If your research is ongoing, ensure you present preliminary data with context.
4. Write with Clarity and Purpose
Use active voice and be direct. Avoid filler words and overly complex sentences.
✅ “We found a strong association between X and Y”
🚫 “It was observed that there might be a possible connection between X and Y”
Proofread! Typos and grammar mistakes detract from your credibility.
